Tumors, Aurigemma (Lazio Region): "Raise awareness among all actors in the therapeutic process"

Thus the President of the Regional Council of Lazio spoke in Rome at the event “Non girarci intorno” by Merck Italia, the awareness campaign on bladder cancer promoted through the Giro d'Italia.
"The Manifesto for the humanization of oncology care fully embraces the guidelines of what we are doing in the Regional Council on healthcare. Healthcare is not just an algebraic factor to balance the accounts of regional administrations, but behind those numbers there are patients, people and families. This manifesto goes in this direction, trying to raise awareness as much as possible of all the main actors in the therapeutic path: institutions, patients, healthcare personnel to humanize even simple treatments, because sometimes a smile is more important than any type of drug". These were the words of the President of the Regional Council of Lazio, Antonello Aurigemma, who spoke in Rome at the event "Non girarci intorno" by Merck Italia, the awareness campaign on bladder cancer promoted through the Giro d'Italia. The President applauded and signed the manifesto created by Merck Italia, in collaboration with the patient associations Ailar, Walce and PaLiNUro and with leading clinicians in the oncology field, presented last March 11, during a meeting held in Rome.
“The importance of prevention is also at the heart of the regional policies of Lazio, which in December 2024 approved the 'Health Council' - Aurigemma recalls - with the aim of carrying out prevention and screening within the workplace. We started in December with the Regional Council and then there were a whole series of stages that saw healthcare personnel who voluntarily volunteered to carry out this prevention throughout the regional territory in all fields, from cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology. There was broad public participation thanks to the availability of healthcare personnel, pharmaceutical companies and many volunteers who made it possible to carry out prevention and screening for thousands of people”.
